Here at Mad Man Racing we don’t just sell the part we install and use them to there full potential, The team consists of two of us, who both have been around cars and built the from the ground up, welding panels in right through to the finishing touches and full engine re builds. We are a very hands on team that like to do all of our own work. and do it to the best of our abilities. So lets meet the team.

Josh

Josh runs a 1992 Volkswagen MK2 16v GTI. initially this car was bought as a daily driver but the car was too much fun not to go to the track in. It has had extensive body work done before it seen the road including, both rear arches welded in, full sill, and the floor. But the spec now is

  • 1.8L 16V running Kjet injectors running 101bhp at the wheels (135bhp at Fly)
  • Motec 19 row oil cooler with braided hoses, connected to a mad man racing thermostatic sandwich plate

Drivetrain

Lee

Lee runs a 2001 Volkswagen MK4 V6 4motion. initially this car was acquired in a deal for another and was supposed to be sold on, but having that V6 goodness and Haldex 4 wheel drive, it was a perfect track car option. The other thoughts were the car didn’t owe him a lot so was perfect as a first car on track should the worst of happened.

Engine

  • 2.8L 24V running pretty much standard apart from a K&N induction kit and modified exhaust with a remap producing 228bhp at the flywheel and raised rev limiter to 6900rpm
  • Mocal 19 row oil cooler with braided hoses, connected to a Mad Man racing thermostatic sandwich plate
